The School Nurses of Hickory Public Schools are employed through Catawba County Public Health Department.  Each school in the HPS system has access to a School Nurse.  School Nurses believe that health status directly influences a student's ability to learn.

Tdap immunization requirement for upcoming 6th graders.
All upcoming 6th graders are required to have the Tdap vaccine before the school year begins.  Contact your child's current doctor for more information or you can call and schedule an appointment through the Catawba County Public Health Department Immunization clinic at 828-695-5881.  Please contact you child's School Nurse if you have questions.

AttachmentKindergarten requirements for the 2011-2012 school year
 North Carolina Public Health law states each child entering kindergarten for the first time must complete a physical examination and immunizations within 30 calendar days of enrollment. Every kindergartner must have the blue health assessment and immunization record completed and turned into school.
